The Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act is a piece of legislation intended to get U.S. taxpayer money invested back into the country. It mandates that any infrastructure project receiving federal funds must use materials and products manufactured in the United States. This includes projects from roads, tunnels and bridges to water systems and broadband expansion. BABA Act compliance is required for all projects funded by the Infrastructure, Investment, and Jobs Act (IIJA) of 2022 or the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) of 2021.
At NSI, we have worked hard the past few years to make sure our products meet BABA requirements. By producing goods domestically, we create jobs, support local businesses and strengthen the American supply chain. Our focus on keeping production in the USA helps our distributor partners and their customers meet the high demand for Made-in-USA electrical and HVAC parts. We ensure that materials are readily available when they are needed and that our products are made to the highest standard of quality – a goal we’ve prided ourselves on for many years.
“One of our top priorities is always putting our customers first and thinking of ways we can make it as easy as possible to do business with us,” said G.R. Schrotenboer, Chief Executive Officer of NSI Industries. “By making a large portion of our products here in the U.S. to meet BABA guidelines, our distributors know and trust that we’ll have a consistent inventory for their customers’ needs. It’s one of our competitive advantages, and the right way to do business.”
The BABA Act is transforming the U.S. economy, both now and into the future. This legislative push is expected to lead to innovation in manufacturing processes, further solidifying the U.S. as a global leader in infrastructure development. For NSI, our investments in a strong stateside manufacturing base are our way of prioritizing reliable in-stock availability to best serve our customers.
